Kerry Central RWSS Officially opened
Added November 05, 2018
Glan Agua in conjunction with MEIC Ltd are pleased to announce that Monday, 5th November marked the official opening of the Kerry Central RWSS.
Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin and Cllr Norma Foley, Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council performed the official opening. Also present were Moira Murrell, Chief Executive of Kerry County Council; Mike Quinn, CEO of Ervia; Eamon Gallen, Managing Director of Irish Water.
This new state of the art facility was successfully designed and built over the past 24 months by Glan Agua and MEIC in an environmentally sensitive and large tourist area. As a result of the upgrade and investment, it was confirmed last week that the Kerry Central RWSS has been removed from EPA’s Remedial Action List (RAL), the list of ‘at risk’ water supplies.
This contract represents the continued growth for Glan Agua in the DBO Water services market and successfully demonstrates our ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with Irish Water, Kerry County Council Nicholas O’Dywer Consulting Engineers and Tobin Consulting Engineers to deliver such a substantial project on programme and on budget. This new Plant provides a safe and secure water supply for 62,000 people and an estimated 1.2 million tourists annually.
