Added January 09, 2019
MEIC are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded the contract for the Letterkenny Regional Water Supply Scheme – Contract No 3. The proposed Works involve the design and construction of 20km of watermain at various locations throughout County Donegal. The works are both Urban and Rural in nature and will involve working on National, Regional and Local roads. A majority of the Urban works take place in Letterkenny town with heavily trafficked areas being considered. See below location Plan of the works.
The Employer on this project is Irish Water and the Employer’s Representative is Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd. The main objectives of this particular contract include addressing local water quality deficiencies and achieving a more efficient use of the current water resources with the provision of infrastructural improvements to enable the transfer of treated water between adjoining supply areas. Accordingly, the proposals will enable the local networks to be re- configured to improve water quality and security of supply.
The pipe sizes range from 180mm OD up to 400mm OD PE100. There are three booster pumping stations to be delivered as part of the contract and Glan Agua Ltd will carry out the mechanical and electrical fit out and associated works involved with these stations. It is envisaged that construction works on this project will commence in Q1 in 2019.
We look forward to working with Irish Water, Donegal County Council and Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd on this project.
