Glan Agua awarded Castlemaine WWTP Contract
Added August 13, 2019
Glan Agua, in conjunction with our sister company, MEIC Ltd are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Castlemaine Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of the Irish Water, Lot 2A ECI Framework.
The project will provide a new wastewater treatment plant as well as additional associated infrastructure required to connect the new plant into the existing wastewater network in the village. It will involve the construction of a new RBC WWTP to serve a population of 750PE, a new pumping station with storm water storage and the operation of existing facilities during construction.
This new plant will treat wastewater to a significantly higher standard, and will ensure that Castlemaine complies with the requirements of both the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations and the EPA waste water discharge authorisation. The Plant will deliver several benefits including the protection of the environment specifically the water quality in the River Maine and Castlemaine Harbour. The provision of wastewater treatment infrastructure will also facilitate future growth in the village.
We look forward to working with the local community in delivering this project in conjunction with Irish Water and Kerry County Council.
